Now that we have our new dining room, it's time to entertain! So I jumped on the opportunity to join 10 other bloggers for a Christmas Table Blog Hop today with my winter wonderland table setting! Welcome to those of you that have hopped over from Delineate Your Dwelling blog. You can find all the blogs participating at the end of this post!
One of my all-time favorite things to do for a holiday meal is create a special table setting - one of my first blog posts for Design Improvised was our red and green Christmas table back in 2011. My tablescapes usually come together in the final minutes before the meal. It was no different for my winter wonderland table, I spent a precious free hour yesterday morning while my Hazel was at preschool, pulling different items from around the house and my box of Christmas ornaments.
The table is a mix of snowflake ornaments, bottlebrush trees, and metallic accents. For the place cards, I placed a mini bottlebrush tree (99 cents at Walmart!) on top of a snowflake ornament and added our names on a strip of card stock:
I made a table runner out of a mix of inexpensive snowflake ornaments I've collected over the years. Tip - snag some pretty snowflake ornaments during after-Christmas sales. You would be surprised how many uses you will find for them - like my glowing snowflake wreath!
I even repurposed snowflake ornaments as napkin rings by running a silver pipe cleaner through a few holes and wrapping it around the back of the napkin:
To finish off the table I incorporated a few larger trees like these modern gold-foiled dipped trees from Minted:
...and these delicate bottlebrush trees from hayneedle.com:
The backs of the chairs got a little sparkle with a swag of gold tinsel garland attached with a copule small pieces of tape:
Now I'm excited to put this table to use - maybe for Christmas brunch!
