Of course, I also loved the excuse to design a new room. Especially a playroom, where I could go crazy with color. In my mind, when it comes to kids' play spaces, the more color the better! As long as it's done tastefully, of course. ;)
That's why when I found this tectonic floor rug at The Land of Nod, I was in love:
I knew I wanted to build the playroom around this rug. Its bold palette set the tone for a colorful and eclectic room. As I was collecting ideas for the space, this mood board of the room started to take shape:

In addition the rug, I wanted the other big focal point to be a gallery wall made from Stella's brightly colored floor puzzles.
In the coming days, I'm going to share the DIY projects I've done for the room, including the puzzle wall, a revamped art easel, and some homemade toy storage -- all leading up to the big playroom reveal!
