Dirty Girl Mud Run

A little departure from DIYing today to let you know about the Dirty Girl 5k Mud Run. Have you heard? Maybe even run in one yourself?  I'm about to experience it for the first time on Dec. 7th!

Dirty Girl is the nation's largest women's-only mud run. It's a non-competitive muddy obstacle course that's open to women of all ages and athletic abilities. Cancer survivors run at all Dirty Girl events for free, and Dirty Girl will give $250,000 in 2013 to breast cancer charity Bright Pink.

Thankfully I've got a great group of women to share the experience with - fellow San Antonio bloggers! This isn't the type of race you want to do alone. In fact, I think the whole point is to conquer it as a team. It's about commaraderie and pushing you outside your comfort zone a bit.

When I heard that a group of San Antonio bloggers were forming a team, I jumped on the opportunity to join in. Most of them I haven't met yet, but what better way to form new friendships than while slogging your way through mud?! I hear from the bloggers that participated last year that it was an incredibly fun and empowering team experience.

If you're like me and never participated in a Dirty Girl mud run, be sure to check out Morena's post with tips for first timers. She's one of my teammates and a fellow DIY blogger I'm excited to meet!

Dirty Girl Mud Runs are held in locations across the country so check out when one is coming to a location near you!

Good news for those of you in San Antonio, you can get 20% off Dec. 7th race fee by using this code when you register! DGSANANTONIO
