Mood Board: Modern Twin Nursery

I have been anxious to share my latest mood board - a yellow and grey twin nursery.  It turns out designing for two is twice the fun!  This nursery was designed for my friend Kelly who is due with boy / girl twins in September.

You can click here for all the details and pricing info on each of the pieces in the mood board.

Grey and yellow twin nursery

Kelly wanted a color scheme that complemented these sweet grey and yellow quilts she found on Etsy (shown hanging from the cribs above), while adding a few pops of navy blue and kelly green.

I tried to carve out a unique space in the room for each child while still keeping it cohesive.  I loved the graphic nursery rhyme prints I found on Etsy for above the cribs as well as the animal silhouette print that says "So Happy Together"!  I had fun mixing different patterns and sprinkling in small animal details throughout the room to draw from the elephant print that forms one square on the quilt.

Grey and yellow twin nursery

The nursery has white walls and Kelly isn't planning on painting as they will be moving soon, so I think a grid of polka dot wall decals in grey and yellow would look cool on one wall.  While I liked the more fluid ones I featured above the rocker above, I particularly like the look of a uniform grid of polka dots like these.

Check out the other rooms I've designed on my mood board page!

  1. Twins!? How fun for her! This is a great nursery. I prefer rooms where the traditional gender colors aren't used- especially in a shared space! Great job, and hooray for supporting Etsy Artists! Original art is the BEST!

    1. Thanks Ashley! I agree, it is so much more fun to add Etsy art to a room than something more generic / store bought.
