Opening Weekend at Randolph Street Market

This past weekend my sister, dad, and I went to the opening weekend of the Randolph Street Market, an outdoor antique and vintage decor market that is held monthly during the summer and fall in Chicago.  After our amazing trip there last year, my sister and I are hoping to make it our annual Memorial Day weekend mecca!  This year did not disappoint.  Plus we had another partner-in-crime... our dad, who gets just as giddy about finding unique 'treasures' as we do. ;)

We paid a little extra for "Early Buyers Admission" to get in the gates at 8am, two hours before the official opening of the market.  Man is it worth it... you have the whole place to yourself and you can meander around and spot the best stuff as the vendors are still unloading their trucks!

Our strategy was to take a quick walk through all the stalls and then make a second round to spend a little more time revisiting the stuff that really caught our eye.  Each vendor had row after row of treasures...

Big industrial letters and vintage globes were especially popular items at the festival this weekend.  I kind of wished I would have brought a globe home with me...

While I wasn't in the market for anything in particular, I couldn't leave without buying a couple small things like this storage box / trunk in a bright 70s print (thinking I will use it for a second craft supply box as my current is exceeding capacity!)

I also have started a small collection of vintage floral tablecloths from the 50s/60s and snagged this pretty one for only $10!  I particularly love using them outside to pretty up a patio table for an alfresco meal:
